1/22/11 VLCD 37   213.4    .4 back on
(bloated tummy…ate eggs for the 1st time yesterday)
1/23/11 VLCD 38   212.4    1 lbs gone
1/24/11 VLCD 39   210.6    1.8 lbs gone

Total 33.6 pounds abnormal fat gone!!!

I initially set a goal to get rid of 30 pounds before i started my 6 week HCG protocol and I’m so happy that I’ve surpassed my goal! If you’ve been following my HCG diet journey you’ll notice i hardly ever use the word “LOST” weight, instead i say “GONE” or “RID OF.” It’s a mental thing where I’m aware that I’m not “LOSING” anything. I’m “WINNING” my health back which essentially is a wonderful “GAIN” for me :) Keep in mind how powerful your mind is. Yes the HCG diet is full of physical actions: weighing your food, weighing yourself everyday, following the menu plan, and drinking enough water. On the other side of the coin, your protocol is about mental toughness, focus, determination, and commitment.

I encountered people in my life who weren’t always 100% supportive of “my choice” to do the HCG diet. Maybe “they thought” I looked fine the way i was or “they thought” I didn’t need the HCg protocol and I could lose it another way. I even had one person tell me they were scared of “chemicals” and advised me to talk to a doctor. They didn’t appreciate it when i told them I wasn’t going to say anything at first because i wasn’t interested in opinions about anyone’s fears or doubts. I was comfortable with the info and knowledge i learned about it and was ready to get started. They got so mad later that they told me the youtube videos i watched aren’t considered “knowledge” and I’m not a doctor.

So mental toughness is sometimes about standing up for “your own decisions” about your health and not giving a damn about the opinions of others…and not being influenced by others…especially when they’re fatter, more out of shape, less active, or less confident than you. Even if they’re a friend and you love them- be wary of their opinions and “so-called advice.” Do what you sincerely feel is best for you. Don’t waver!!!

Setting Goals And Surpassing Them

There’s no such thing as unrealistic goals, there are only unrealistic time frames. Most people don’t set goals at all and only about 3% of people set goals effectively. Which goes back to not being influenced by others opinions and advice- 97% of the people advising you set no goals and when they do, they don’t accomplish them. Do you really want to take advice from them?  I hope not. Unfortunately, goal setting 101 and goal getting 102 aren’t taught in most schools or in most households. Fortunately it’s never too late to learn how to set and achieve goals and when you achieve your goals, it’s such a natural high (no drugs necessary) and a tremendous confidence booster.
