Cravings During The HCG Protocol
Surprisingly, I haven’t had any cravings. Surprisingly, I don’t feel hungry or even thirsty most of the time. Now i do want to eat certain foods that i miss, like cheese, ranch salad dressing, blackened salmon, homemade french fires, chicken wings -BUT i’m not craving them. Thank God! If you’re getting intense cravings during the HCG protocol, it could be due to a few reasons: maybe you didn’t gorge and fatten up enough on the 2 gorge days, you may have a candida (yeast) problem, or you may be extremely active.
If you suspect you have a candida problem, the HCG diet is the perfect time to fix it because you’re eating no processed junk food or sweets. Capryl and probiotics may totally get rid of your candida during your 6 week HCG diet. Now I haven’t tested this out so if you use Capryl and you notice your weight loss is affected on the days you use it, just stick to garlic and probiotics.
If you’re having cravings and you don’t have candida, I can understand some cravings at the beginning of the HCG diet. Once you’re a week into the protocol, your body is well into a state of lipolysis, gluconeogenesis, and ketosis. These three states is what causes most people to feel no cravings, no hunger, and in some cases no thirst during the HCG diet. After you’ve been on VLCD for 5 days, use ketosis strips to see your level of ketosis. If you’re not in ketosis, this is why you may be craving. And- after 5 VLCD days i don’t see why in the world you wouldn’t be in ketosis unless you’re not following the HCG protocol correctly or you’re cheating.
Focusing On My Current HCG Diet Phase
Last night i told a close friend that i didn’t like my low numbers lately and I’m hoping to see 1 pound days again. He knows I’ve been thinking about and planning a menu for my low carb phase three. So he told me that when people are on a diet and start to think about food they’re not currently eating, it’s as if the mind is mentally eating and weight loss can slow down and sometimes stall completely. If you’ve been following my HCG diary here, you already know the goodies i’ve created for my phase 3 diet. So, I’m going to take his advice and focus my mind on my current HCG menu and plan to see 1 pound days on average over the next 12 days.
Yep!!! I have 12 more VLCD HCG days left, 3 VLCD days without HCG, then I think I’ll take a do-me day and eat whatever i want to eat before starting phase 3…we’ll see God-willing.
